To explain the idea behind the “LiveAuskorea” project, we have to go back a few years - namely to the mid-90s, when kpop was still completely unknown and Korea was more than was perceived as a trouble spot in foreign policy than as a lifestyle nation.

At that time I was a student at a humanistic high school in Bavaria, diligently learning German and Latin(!) vocabulary and constantly longing to return to Korea. I came to Germany for family reasons and usually traveled to Korea twice a year. Despite my young age, I flew back and forth between the two countries and was always up to date with the music and fashion trends in Korea. These were, so to speak, my personal connection to my old homeland. My idols back then were first-generation kpop stars, who laid the foundation for the current form of kpop, which has established itself as a fixture in the music world.

Since my relatives in Korea also know about my enthusiasm for Knowing the hip Korean youth culture, I was regularly provided with packages - these were mostly filled with Korean sweets, kpop CDs and magazines.
